Each Fall, MEOTA recognizes members for extraordinary acts in our field. The following awards are presented annually:
OT/ OTA Practitioner Award
This award is given to an occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant licensed in the state of Maine, based on the following criteria:
1. Currently licensed Occupational Therapy practitioner in the state of Maine and current MEOTA Member
2. Demonstrates best practice with proof of exceptional work completed in the field of Occupational Therapy.
3. Nominee is an exemplary clinician, leader, and professional role model who promotes evidence-based, client-centered occupational therapy intervention to advance the profession.
4. Takes initiative to expand current knowledge and skills and continuing competency within their primary area of practice through self-study, and/or participation in workshops, seminars, task force, SIS’s or other professional affiliations.
OT/ OTA Advocate Award
This award is designed to recognize an individual or group who has demonstrated outstanding service to the profession of Occupational Therapy with the state of Maine and is based on the following criteria:
1. The nominee does not need to be an occupational therapy practitioner Consideration should be given to any individual or group whose creativity, ingenuity, and dedication has provided an outstanding service to the profession of Occupational Therapy.
2. Nominee shall increase public awareness of occupational therapy
3. Nominee will advocate for outstanding services for clients and promote maximum independence

In 2024, we are excited to be able to offer student scholarships in the amount of $250.00 each. These scholarships are available to any student currently enrolled in an occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant program in the state of Maine- students must be a member of MEOTA.
Purpose
The purpose of the MEOTA scholarship is to support the future generation of occupational therapy practitioners
Eligibility
- Students must currently be enrolled in an accredited occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant program in Maine
- Students must be a current MEOTA member
- Student should demonstrate a sustained record of outstanding academic achievement, demonstrate leadership, community service, advocacy, and overall commitment to the profession of occupational therapy and MEOTA
Applications due by October 15, 2024 and will be awarded at spring conference. (Nominations now closed)
