MEOTA continues to follow the Licensure Compact implementation process. The executive committee of the OTCC is currently working to refine the rules, policies and frequently asked questions of the Compact. They will begin to work on obtaining, developing, testing and implementing a data management system. The PR committee is working on video presentations, identifying speaking engagements for promotion of the compact and continuing with regular website and email updates. The rules committee is developing second tier rules, writing arbitration and mediation procedures; addressing the administrative processes, and finalizing the criminal background check requirements.
Check AOTA’s website for more information on the interstate professional licensing compact, including background, the general timeline, and what it would mean for occupational therapy practitioners.
MISSION: The mission of MEOTA is to promote the profession of Occupational Therapy and support all Occupational Therapy practitioners in the state of Maine.
