Living Well with Dr. John - Adjustment Through the Lifespan: Relationships, Intimacy and Sexuality

  • 1 Dec 2020
  • 2:00 PM

Join Dr. John Chang in this two part webinar series beginning with relationships in November and ending with sex in December.

A spinal cord injury can cause many psychological after-effects. Confusion. Disbelief. Anger. Fear. Hope. Despair. With a spinal cord injury and reduced ability, many may feel that relationships are challenging in new ways or bound to end. A spinal cord injury does not have to be a reason for not pursuing or maintaining a new or old relationship. Let’s talk about it!

Sexuality is a person’s capacity for sexual feelings and their desire to bond with others through affection, intimacy, and love. People express their sexuality through their sexual identity, gender identity, emotions, and physical contact. Sexuality can be very influential to a person’s quality of life. Sometimes people with paralysis feel a little lost after an injury on this front. Let’s talk about it!
