Amanda Saylor is an occupational therapist with eight years’ experience working in outpatient neurological rehab; she is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, a Certified Neurological Specialist and certified in LSVT BIG.  For the last several years, Amanda served as the Lead Occupational Therapist for Advent Health’s outpatient neurological clinics across central Florida, focusing on improving clinical best practices for her team of nearly thirty occupational therapists. In this role she developed AdventHealth’s Vivistim program and continues to coordinate care and tracks patient outcomes. In addition to treating patients, Amanda is currently engaged in several research projects and has presented at professional conferences & instructed continuing education courses. She, alongside her colleague, also educates clinicians on neurological rehab via Instagram, The Neuro OTs, @Neuro_OTs.

The topic:

Amanda will be presenting on Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy including how it works in improving function of the upper extremity post-stroke, the pivotal trial that led to FDA approval, and the type of therapy paired with VNS. She will also share her personal experience treating Vivistim patients including outcomes of the first 30 patients treated at her hospital system and examples of functional achievements after six weeks of Vivistim paired with OT.
